St. Patrick's Day Ideas

As St. Patrick's Day quickly approaches, Brooklyn is starting to figure out the concept of leprechauns and buried treasure. So, to make the day a little extra special for her, I've found a few ideas online to spruce up the magic of the holiday!

The Crafting Chicks always have great ideas for any holiday. So I checked out their blog and found two cute ideas. A leprechaun treasure hunt, and an adorable St. Patrick's Day banner that I want to try to recreate!

The Chicks also had a post that mentioned dying the milk green and leaving leprechaun footprints around the house leading to mischievous pranks. If your kids are anything like mine, they will love trying to figure out where the leprechaun is hiding and will be anxious to find out what he does next!

Dollar Store Crafts also had some really cute 3D shamrock cards that I might try to tackle if I have a little extra time. Brooklyn loves giving cards to her friends, so I think she'll get a kick out of it. Also, it never hurts for adults to send little notes to their friends to let them know you're thinking about them.

And if I'm feeling REALLY ambitious that day, I might try to make some Irish food to tickle our pallets...IF! Here is a fun site I found that has some traditional Irish food recipes on it: http://www.yourirish.com/food/. You might want to browse it to see if there is anything you think your family would eat and enjoy. If not, there is always the fall-back-sugar-cookie idea! Kids (and adults who live for frosting) always seem to be happy with that! Anyway, have fun with your own St. Patrick's Day traditions, and good luck!

  1. The treasure hunt idea is so adorable! I'm totally going to try it. Now if I can just get myself to the store to buy stuff for the treasure...(it's always daunting with 3 kids ; )
