The "I" Date

I know it's been a long time coming, but Kevin and I finally got around to our "I" date! We found it nearly Impossible to find a babysitter, so we went the dinner and movie route Instead and watched all 4 Indiana Jones movies while we made homemade Ice cream in Ziploc bags! Shaking the Ice got a little Irritating on my already cold hands, but when it was finished the Ice cream was Irresistibly delicious and totally worth it!

The "H" Date

I know its been awhile, but Kevin and I finally Had a little extra time on our Hands, so we got a babysitter and went out on our "H" date! To start things off, we went to a second Hand store and bought some silly Hats. Then we went Home and embellished them with feathers and flowers so they would be perfect for the Horse race! That's right! Our friends threw a Kentucky Derby party and we were actually able to attend. There were a lot of Homemade goodies to eat at the party and we enjoyed a lot of Humorous conversation as well. Neither of our Horses won, but since we didn't actually bet money on them, we left the party feeling very Happy! What Has your dating life been like as of late? Any ideas for our upcoming "I" date? The "G" Date

Yesterday, Kevin and I had our "G" Date. So, as soon as Kevin returned home from work, we loaded the Girls into their stroller, and headed out for some Geocaching! There were Gobs of caches near our home and it didn't take long before we were Gallivanting around with our GPS to find these random treasures. The trail lead us through Gaggles of Geese (and Goose poop), Giant corn fields, and Gnarly forests. We ended up finding 2 Groovy caches before Going to Get some ice cream and then heading home for a Good night's sleep!

Anyway, it turned out to be a Great date enjoyed by all, and one that can be enjoyed for Generations to come. If you are interested in learning more about Geocaching, go to http://www.geocaching.com.

The "F" Date

Yesterday was our "F" date! So, Kevin decided to make it a Family date and had planned to take ALL the Females living under his roof on a Fishing trip...but when the plans Fell through, he decided to take us to Johansen's Farm instead. Unfortunately, I managed to catch the Flu and was banished to the house until I started Feeling better :(

But that's OK. The rest of the Family enjoyed a Fun Filled afternoon petting Farm animals, Frolicking in the hay, Feigning Fright in the haunted corn maze, pretending to Free Willy, Flipping in the bounce house, and Falling down giant slides!

It turned out to be a great evening for Kevin and the girls, and I was able to get some much needed rest whilst watching the Food network in my Fuzzy pajamas :) Stay tuned for the "G" date, and as always, Feel Free to share your date ideas with us ANYTIME!

The "E" Date

For our "E" date last night, Kevin took me to the Bank of America Chicago Marathon Runners Expo! We were able to have our good friends babysit the girls for the night which made driving into the city a lot Easier. In fact, my favorite part of the date was the drive there. It is incredible to be able to have an Entire conversation with your husband uninterrupted!

When we got to the Expo there was so much Excitement in the air. All the runners were nervously picking up their packets before strolling through the vendor rows. Kevin set an Eleven dollar limit for Each of us to buy something we really wanted. I got a stack of running socks and he stocked up on Energy bars!

Soon the Expo closed, so we hopped back in the car, picked up the girls, went home, and then Kevin used Eggs to make us some One Eyed Jacks for dinner. It was a fun and relaxing night and it was AMAZING to be Engaged in conversation with my sweet heart for three blissfully uninterrupted hours!

The "D" Date

Today was our "D" Date and it was SOOO much fun! First we Dropped off our girls with the babysitters, then we Drove to the Dollar Store where we picked out Disguises for each other (I got to be a Dinosaur and Kevin wore some burgundy Dreads) and then we bought some Drinks. Then we Drove to a Disc golf course and played 18 holes. (The first 9 were Disturbing but we DID improve the second time around!) Kevin Dominated, getting a score of -6 and I did OK for my first try with +15.

When we were Done, Kevin (somewhat Dangerously) Drove home and unfortunately caused the Death of a squirrel... but that wasn't part of the plan! Anyway, we had a great time together and are SUPER excited to see what "E" brings! Feel free to share your ideas with us too. We'd love to hear from you!

The "C" Date

Yesterday was mine and Kevin's "C" date. Kevin was in charge and he did a great job! Once again, we couldn't get a babysitter, but it worked out just fine. We put on a DVD full of White Collar episodes while we Cooked a Cheesy Chip Creation, (aka 7 layer chip dip) and some Cinnamon Carrot Cup Cakes with Cream Cheese frosting!

Kevin also had plans to make dessert Crepes but we were way to stuffed to make more food. Anyway, it was a fun, tasty, and relaxing night, and it was a BLAST to create something yummy and new with my handsome hubby! What "C" ideas did you come up with? We're always happy to hear new ideas :)

ABC Dating

As our family has expanded, Kevin and I have found it more and more difficult to date each other. After all, our lives are much different from when we first started dating. For starters, we're usually too tired to get dressed-up and leave the house, and we generally don't want to stay up late because we know the girls will wake up at 6:00 AM no matter how much sleep WE got. Aside from that, babysitters get more expensive the more kids you have, and arranging swaps with other couples is difficult because other families with kids are also busy and tired.

That's where ABC Dating comes in. After many discussions of cost, time, etc. we decided to give this idea a try. Basically, each date night you take a letter of the alphabet and base all your activities off it. The dates are supposed to be creative and inexpensive and you and your partner should take turns every other date night with being in charge. Oh! and you're supposed to try to surprise your partner with the activities you choose.

Last date night Kevin was in charge and he started us out with the letter A. As usual, we couldn't get a babysitter but it was OK. When Kevin got home from work, we packed up the girls, drove to a beautiful park, and Ate Apples and Apricots while we drew Artistic pictures of things that started with A. (In the meantime, the girls were playing on the playground equipment which ALMOST made it feel like we were Alone!) I drew the Delicate Arch, an Airplane, and an AWESOME flower Arrangement. Kevin stuck with being an original Artist and drew a picture of himself throwing the kids around, one of the playground slide, and one of the park landscape. (I think he kind of cheated.)

Anyway, when we got home we put the girls to bed and then watched a movie that started with the letter A. I didn't get pictures of anything because our camera died right when we got in the car, but I promise it was a fun and beautiful time!

On the docket for tonight: Breakfast for dinner, shopping at the "Going Out of Business" sale at Borders Bookstore, and then home for Back rubs and a few rounds of Boggle!
